We are looking for Lead Software Engineer (.NET/C#) for our client in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a 8-month contract with the possibility of an extension.

As a key player in supporting ongoing major migration projects and maintaining essential legacy systems, our Lead Software Engineer will be instrumental in modernizing and maintaining critical applications during this transitional phase.

Job Description: As a Lead Software Engineer specializing in .NET and C#, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of legacy systems. This role is crucial in managing the lifecycle of bespoke applications that are vital to our operations but currently lack modern development practices and thorough documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of MSSQL databases, along with SSIS and SSRS packages, from on-premises data centers to AWS RDS, ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption.
• Maintain and enhance legacy .NET/C# systems as part of the change management process.
• Collaborate with the Principal Database Administrator to define and execute the migration strategy to AWS MSSQL or PostgreSQL.
• Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications to improve deployment processes and code quality.
• Quickly triage and remediate incidents and bugs that arise during the migration and maintenance phases.
• Work closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure that all technical solutions align with company goals and project timelines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, promoting best practices in software development and cloud integration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in .NET and C# development, with a strong background in maintaining and modernizing legacy systems.
• Experience in migrating data and applications to cloud environments, specifically AWS, including expertise with ALB/NLB, EC2, and RDS.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex technical challenges.
